We take the planning, the scheduling, and the record-keeping. We don't take your seat at the table. The best part of homeschooling is the part you do together, so that's the part we hand back to you instead of automating away.
Off the screen, wherever we can
Arbor writes lessons for you to teach and worksheets you print, not hours of screen time for a seven-year-old. Little kids learn best with a person, a book, and twenty good minutes. Older students do need to write and research, and we'll say so plainly, but a screen is never the default.
School should be part of the day, not all of it
Learning at home doesn't take seven hours. We plan a few real lessons, keep them short, and stop. No extra subjects piled on to make the day look full. When the work is done, they're done, and the afternoon outside is not time missing from school. For a lot of families it's the whole reason they came home.

We’re Shelby and Nate. We have three kids, we were homeschooled ourselves, and we use Arbor every single day. We know the late nights piecing together lesson plans and the quiet worry that you’re somehow doing it wrong.
We kept hearing the same thing from other parents: they wanted to homeschool but didn’t think they could pull it off. So we built the tool we needed. We’re a real family, not a faceless startup. The worries, answered
Will my kid be on a screen all day?+
No. Arbor writes the lesson for you to teach and a worksheet you print, so a school day can happen entirely at the kitchen table with paper and a pencil. Print the lesson and you don't need a device open at all. Older students do real writing and research, and a teenager may type an essay or use a math program you picked, but that's your call. The screen is a tool here, never the teacher.
Do I have to teach every lesson myself?+
Yes, and that's the point. The lesson comes written for you: what to say, in order, with the worksheet already printed, so you're reading along at the table instead of lecturing from memory. It usually takes fifteen to thirty minutes. For an older student, any subject can be marked self-guided, and they get their own page with just that day's work on it. You still see everything, and you're still the one who marks it done.
How long does a school day take?+
A few real lessons, each about fifteen to thirty minutes, and then you're done. For a younger kid that's usually an hour or two, most of it together. Arbor doesn't pile on subjects to make the day look full, and it doesn't add tests to prove it happened. When the work is done, they're done, and the afternoon is theirs.
Is my kid talking to an AI?+
No, and that's on purpose. There is no chatbot for children anywhere in Arbor. Arbor writes the lesson, you read it first, and you teach it, on paper if you print it. The AI is a tool on your side of the table, and your child never has to meet it.
How much does it cost?+
Two seats, whatever the size of your family: $24.99 a month per seat, or $249.99 a year with two months free, and every child after your second is free. Your first 14 days are free. You add a card to start, nothing is charged until the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you pay nothing. No contracts, and your plan and progress stay saved either way.
Do I need to buy a curriculum?+
No, for almost everything. Arbor writes the lessons for reading, writing, math through Algebra II, science, history, and the rest of the core, so there's nothing to order. A few subjects are learned by doing, on a device or with an instrument, and for those Arbor helps you pick a real program and keeps it on the schedule. And if you already own a curriculum you love, keep it: photograph the book and Arbor lays it across your year, or tell it what your kid has already covered and it picks up from there.
What if my kid is behind, or ahead?+
Arbor meets them where they are and adjusts. Master something and it moves on. Struggle and it slows down and adds practice. There's no grade-level box to feel boxed in by, and a kid can be ahead in one subject and steady in another.
What ages is Arbor for?+
Pre-K through 12th grade. Pre-K stays light on purpose: a few gentle subjects and short parent-led moments to get an almost-kindergartner ready, no pressure. High school works a little differently, because a transcript is built from courses and credits rather than grades, so Arbor plans it that way and tracks the progress behind it. Arbor writes the math sequence through Algebra II, with every answer key checked in code. We're still straight about what we don't write: geometry, calculus, and the lab sciences need a real program with drawn constructions and real labs, and we help you pick one and keep it on the schedule.
How is this different from a boxed curriculum?+
A box hands you the material and leaves the teaching for you to work out. Arbor hands you the lesson itself, written for you to read and teach, at your kid's real level, with the worksheet printed and the year planned around it. And a box is frozen the day it ships. If it's too hard or too easy by October, Arbor adjusts the next lesson instead of you buying another box.
How is this different from just using ChatGPT myself?+
ChatGPT gives you a wall of text to turn into a lesson at midnight, and it forgets your family between chats. Arbor gives you the lesson in the shape a teacher's guide has, remembers each kid's level and what they've covered, schedules the week, prints the worksheet, and tracks the progress. We also pick the models with the best record for telling the truth and hold them to one narrow job, teaching this skill to this kid, so a lesson teaches the subject and not somebody's opinion about it.
Is this legal, and will it keep me ready for my state?+
Homeschooling is legal in every US state, and each state has its own rules. Arbor tracks attendance, hours, grades, and a portfolio of real work as you teach, so you always have everything you need to show what your family did. The report your state asks for is yours to make from it, and you sign it, because it's yours. Arbor isn't a school and this isn't legal advice, so always confirm your own state's requirements.
