Find your child's level

Not a test. A few yes-or-not-yet questions about what your child can already do, one at a time. The first “not yet” shows where to start.

Can your child

Question 1 of up to 13. Can your child: Count and read numbers, first to 20 and then to 100?

Why it works this way

A placement test takes an hour, feels like a verdict, and a child who has a bad morning lands in the wrong place. You already know what your child can do. These questions just put it in order, from the first skills to the later ones, so the last yes is where new learning begins.

  • Kids are often at different levels in different subjects. That’s normal, and it’s why each subject is checked on its own.
  • Not sure about a question? Answer “not yet.” Starting a little early builds confidence; starting too late builds gaps.
  • For writing, one real page tells you more than any question can, so it asks you to look at one.
