How to use this in 5 minutes

  1. Teach the three. Say, “When s and h team up, they make one new sound, /sh/, like ship. The letters c and h say /ch/, like chick, and t and h say /th/, like bath.”
  2. Name each picture. Say, “Ship, fish, chick, bench, bath, moth. Which two letters make the sound you hear?”
  3. Sort the words. Say, “Read each word, then write it under its sound.”

Tip. /th/ is the one you can see: the tongue peeks out between the teeth. Let your child say it into a mirror.
